Escape Fire: The Fight to Rescue American Healthcare tackles one of the most pressing issues of our time: what can be done to save our broken medical system? The film examines the powerful forces trying to maintain the status quo in a medical industry designed for quick fixes rather than prevention, for profit-driven care rather than patient-driven care. After decades of resistance, a movement to bring innovative high-touch, low-cost methods of prevention and healing into our high-tech, costly system is finally gaining ground. Escape Fire follows dramatic human stories as well as leaders fighting to transform healthcare at the highest levels of medicine, industry, government, and even the U.S. military. The film is about a way out. Its about saving the health of a nation.

The Film Campaign

Amidst spiraling public dissatisfaction with the current healthcare system, much of the focus has been on increasing access for the 30 million uninsured Americans. While access is vitally important, our film focuses on the larger question: access to what? Beyond Washington, there is now a real revolution afoot to change our broken system from one that focuses primarily on disease-care to one that focuses on promoting good health.

ESCAPE FIRE is perfectly poised to ignite the spark. At this critical point in the history of Americas healthcare system, ESCAPE FIRE has a chance to help shift the conversation about healthcare across America in a positive direction, away from the polarized debate now underway. This documentary shows what is broken in the current healthcare system and draws attention to solutions that can empower individuals who are supported by a system that promotes preventative and patient-centered health.
